Electric arc furnace steelmaker Feng Hsin (2015-TW) announced its pricing for this week on the 27th. With international scrap steel prices stabilizing, Feng Hsin has held both its scrap steel purchase price and rebar selling price unchanged.

Looking at international raw material prices, there is no current quote for U.S. bulk scrap. Japanese 2H scrap is quoted at USD 350 per ton this week, down USD 5 over half a month. U.S. container scrap remains flat at USD 330, while Australian iron ore dropped from USD 101.3 to USD 98.9 per ton.

Feng Hsin stated that rebar prices had previously declined in tandem with falling scrap prices over several consecutive weeks, causing domestic steel mills to face losses. Although scrap prices declined last week, the company proactively raised rebar prices to alleviate loss pressure. This week, with international scrap prices stabilizing, it has maintained prices unchanged.

Feng Hsin’s scrap purchase price this week is NT$9,200 per ton, rebar at NT$17,800 per ton, and structural steel base price remains flat at NT$25,000 per ton.
