Tatung Electric (6184-TW) announced its financial results for the first half of the year today (28), reporting cumulative revenue of NT$1.097 billion, a new historical high. Net profit after tax reached NT$230 million, down 12.4% year-on-year, with earnings per share (EPS) of NT$1.51. The company stated that its subsidiary, TaTa Broadband (7901-TW), plans to file an IPO application in the third quarter.
In the second quarter, Tatung Electric recorded revenue of NT$547 million, a 0.55% decrease quarter-on-quarter but a 1.11% increase year-on-year. Gross margin was 53.56%, down 0.62 percentage points from the previous quarter and up 0.15 percentage points year-on-year. Operating margin was 28.15%, down 4.03 percentage points quarter-on-quarter and 1.05 percentage points year-on-year. Net profit after tax was NT$121 million, up 11.01% quarter-on-quarter but down 5.47% year-on-year, with EPS of NT$0.79.
Cumulative H1 revenue reached NT$1.097 billion, up 1.76% year-on-year. Gross margin was 53.87%, up one percentage point year-on-year. Operating margin was 30.17%, up 0.86 percentage points year-on-year. Net profit after tax was NT$230 million, down 12.4% year-on-year, with EPS of NT$1.51.
Tatung Electric noted that as of the end of the first half, its subsidiary TaTa Broadband had 188,400 subscribers. Broadband revenue contributed NT$460 million, accounting for 46% of total revenue, serving as the primary driver of revenue growth.
