PCB and IC substrate manufacturer Unimicron (3037-TW) delivered strong financial results in the second quarter of 2026. The company's net profit for the first half of 2026 reached NT$19.356 billion, an 18.23-fold year-on-year increase, with earnings per share (EPS) reaching NT$11.70.
Unimicron held its earnings conference today (29), announcing that due to robust demand for AI and high-performance computing (HPC), the revenue contribution from AI-related products has already exceeded 60% in the first half of 2026. The company expects this ratio to rise to 70% in the second half.
Additionally, Unimicron will adopt a rolling price adjustment strategy for ABF substrates in the second half of 2026, dynamically responding to market demand. The company remains optimistic about continued revenue growth in the second half.
Unimicron's Q2 2026 revenue reached a record high of NT$42.89 billion. Gross margin stood at 24.08%, up 6.84 percentage points quarter-on-quarter and 11.72 percentage points year-on-year. Net profit for Q2 reached NT$13.115 billion, a 1.6-fold increase quarter-on-quarter and a staggering 441-fold increase year-on-year, with EPS at NT$8.45.
For the first half of 2026, total revenue was NT$62.556 billion, with a gross margin of 21.61%, up 8.39 percentage points year-on-year. Net profit for the first half was NT$19.356 billion, up 18.23 times year-on-year, with EPS reaching NT$11.70.
In Q2 2026, ABF substrates showed the strongest growth, with revenue share increasing from 49% in Q1 to 52%. Revenue grew 22% quarter-on-quarter and 51% year-on-year. Gross margin for Q2 was 24.08%, up 6.84 percentage points quarter-on-quarter and 11.72 percentage points year-on-year. The margin improvement was driven by price increases, higher capacity utilization, and improved yield rates.
Unimicron announced it is raising its 2026 capital expenditure to NT$53.7 billion, with 80–85% allocated to ABF substrates. The remainder will be used for factory facilities, primarily for backend investments at the Guangfu II plant. The Yangmei II plant broke ground in Q2, and the Yangmei III plant is scheduled to begin construction by the end of 2026.
