To meet the strong demand for AI, Inventec (2356-TW) announced at its board meeting yesterday (28) that it will simultaneously expand investments in Taiwan, the United States, and Thailand. This includes investing 8.8 billion TWD to build a factory on its own land in Taoyuan, as well as increasing capital in the U.S. and Thailand, reflecting robust AI demand. This announcement has driven Inventec's stock price today (29) to rise in both price and volume, despite the broader market continuing to decline.
Inventec opened at 60 TWD in early trading, reaching a high of 61.6 TWD during the session, up over 4%. Although it briefly turned negative and fell to 58 TWD, it later rebounded into positive territory. As of 10 a.m., the stock was trading at 60 TWD, up over 2%, with trading volume exceeding 23,000 lots.
According to Inventec's announcement, to meet the growing need for production space due to expanding capacity and future order demand, the company will invest an additional 8.8 billion TWD to build a factory on its own land within the Taoyuan plant area.
In Thailand, Inventec has approved a cash capital increase for its Thai subsidiary ITH totaling 6.1 billion Thai baht (approximately 5.916 billion TWD), and passed a resolution to build a factory on its own land. This is expected to improve material logistics management efficiency and maintain production scalability to meet future order demand.
In the U.S., Inventec has decided to increase capital in its North American subsidiary IHC by 110 million USD (approximately 3.574 billion TWD). Additionally, considering long-term business development and power infrastructure needs, the company will acquire additional land and factory facilities and expand power engineering at its Texas plant. The real estate transaction for land and buildings amounts to 58 million USD, while power engineering will cost 48.6 million USD.
