U.S. and Ukrainian Presidents Hold White House Talks on 'Patriot' Missile Production

U.S. President Trump held a closed-door meeting with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy at the White House on the morning of the 28th (Tuesday). After the meeting, Zelenskyy posted on social media that the two leaders discussed issues including licensing for the production of 'Patriot' missiles in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy emphasized that restarting diplomatic efforts to resolve the Ukraine crisis is crucial, and that U.S. and Ukrainian teams will coordinate follow-up discussions on specific arrangements.

This is the second meeting between the two presidents this month. They previously met on the 8th during the NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, where Trump announced he would authorize Ukraine to produce the 'Patriot' air defense system.

Shortly after arriving in the U.S. early that morning, Zelenskyy posted on social media stating that his primary mission for this visit was missile defense and strategic cooperation with the United States. He also mentioned he would attend the funeral of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, who passed away suddenly this month.
