Following closely behind TSMC (2330-TW) (TSM-US), Chang Hwa Bank is actively expanding its overseas operations. Today (30), it officially received approval from Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission to apply to U.S. regulatory authorities for the establishment of a representative office in Phoenix, Arizona. This is expected to become Chang Hwa Bank's third operational base in the United States, marking a significant milestone in its expansion into the U.S. market. The new office will further enhance its North American service network and comprehensively upgrade its cross-border financial service capabilities.

In response to global supply chain restructuring and the overseas expansion trends of Taiwanese businesses, Chang Hwa Bank continues to strengthen its international financial service network. Overseas locations currently under preparation include Labuan Branch in Malaysia, Sydney Branch in Australia, and Toronto Branch in Canada.

Once established, the Phoenix representative office will become Chang Hwa Bank's third U.S. base. By integrating with its existing U.S. operations in New York and Los Angeles, the bank will provide businesses with more timely, comprehensive, and diversified cross-border financial support, helping them seize global market opportunities and steadily expand their international footprint.

Phoenix, Arizona, has become a key global center for semiconductor and high-tech industries, thanks to its robust industrial clusters, high-quality investment environment, and strong policy support. With TSMC's large-scale investment in its wafer fabrication plant, a supply chain ecosystem centered on TSMC has formed locally, creating a cluster of Taiwanese businesses. Taiwan has established the Phoenix Taiwan Trade and Investment Center as a frontline hub for bilateral economic and trade cooperation, significantly driving diverse financial needs such as equipment financing, supply chain finance, and cross-border fund transfers.

Currently, Phoenix's financial system is dominated by large U.S. and regional banks, resulting in a relative shortage of financial services. In this context, the establishment of Chang Hwa Bank's representative office in Phoenix offers a first-mover advantage. It will be able to provide on-the-ground services such as market intelligence gathering, business analysis, client relationship maintenance, and business development, deepening cooperation with local enterprises and Taiwanese business clients, and laying a solid operational foundation for a future upgrade to a full branch.

Chang Hwa Bank stated that it will continue to uphold the principles of stable operations, risk management, and sustainable development, aligning with national financial policies and industrial development directions. It will actively expand its overseas service locations, deepen international financial cooperation, and deliver higher-quality, professional, and comprehensive financial services to customers, steadily advancing toward becoming the most trusted international financial partner for businesses.
