Hua Xin (1605-TW) maintained stable prices across all products in July, but today (30) announced its August pricing for flat-rolled products. Citing a strong US dollar and persistently high raw material costs leading to increased production costs, the company raised prices for 316-grade flat-rolled products by NT$2,000 per ton, while other product lines remain unchanged.

Hua Xin stated that Indonesia's government decision to cap this year's nickel ore mining quota at 260 million tons—a 30% year-on-year reduction—has kept ferro-nickel prices elevated. Additionally, renewed military tensions between the U.S. and Iran have kept copper and molybdenum prices high. Market expectations of a U.S. Federal Reserve rate hike have also intensified risk-averse sentiment and strengthened the dollar, further driving up steelmakers' production costs. Despite these pressures, Hua Xin decided to raise prices for only 316 products in August, considering overall customer order competitiveness.

Most of Hua Xin’s August flat-rolled product prices remain unchanged, including 304, 200-series, and 400-series products. Only the 316-grade product saw a price increase of NT$2,000 per ton.
