Tontek Photonics (6588-TW), a manufacturer of optical communication filter chips, achieved H1 2026 revenue of NT$184 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 132.45%. Despite intense volatility in the Taiwan stock market last week, the company's stock gained 9.33% for the week, closing two consecutive green weekly candles, with weekly trading volume spiking to 35,000 lots—nearly ten times higher than the previous week.
Tontek has benefited from its 400G and 800G products being integrated into AI infrastructure applications. Strong demand for 800G products has significantly contributed to revenue. The 1.6T product is undergoing ongoing customer sampling and verification, with mass production expected to gradually commence in line with market upgrade timelines. The company posted a self-reported profit in June 2026, with earnings per share reaching NT$0.22, turning profitable compared to the same period last year.
In recent years, Tontek has expanded into new business areas such as network communications, semiconductor materials, and high-power lasers through strategic investments and partnerships. Starting this year, its strategic investment in Weilifu Technology—a specialized foundry for III-V compound semiconductors—aims to accumulate critical manufacturing processes and technological capabilities.
Tontek’s core products are thin-film optical filters used in active and passive optical communication components and cloud data centers. Monthly revenues in the first half of the year showed significant volume growth, maintaining high double-digit year-on-year growth rates, reflecting increasing order momentum from 5G infrastructure and data center demand.
Analysts note that Tontek’s H1 2026 revenue of NT$184 million has already surpassed its full-year 2025 revenue of NT$173 million. Gross margin turned positive in Q1 2026, reaching 21.22%. With continuous development of new optical communication products, the short-term stock price target is projected at NT$107, with expected trading range between NT$78 and NT$107.
