Industrial computer giant Advantech (2395-TW) achieved record highs in the second quarter and first half of the year. Looking ahead to the second half, CFO and General Manager of Comprehensive Operations Chen Qingxi stated that accelerated global AI deployment has driven related application demand, keeping order intake robust, and the overall business outlook is optimistic.
Chen Qingxi stated that the second quarter's overall order-to-shipment ratio (B/B Ratio) was 1.44, maintaining a strong level. Looking at the three major markets, North America was 1.92, Europe 1.25, and China 1.21, indicating that the end-market demand momentum in major markets remains stable.
On the other hand, Chen Qingxi stated that Physical AI, which possesses perception, reasoning, and action capabilities, will become increasingly mature and commercialized. Edge AI-related demand is expected to maintain growth momentum in the second half of the year. Advantech will also integrate proxy AI tools and Edge AI platforms through WISE-Edge Developer Architecture (WEDA) to strengthen global ecosystem collaboration, accelerate the popularization of Edge AI applications, and inject momentum into long-term business growth.
Facing fluctuations in key raw material costs and supply chain challenges, Chen Qingxi stated that the company is also continuously deepening its supply chain resilience layout. By establishing long-term strategic partnerships with major suppliers, it ensures stable supply of key components and implements price management mechanisms to adapt to external environmental changes, maintaining stable business and profit growth.
