Optical component manufacturer Asia Optical (3019-TW) announced today (3rd) its latest financial results for the second quarter of 2026. The company posted a net profit of NT$537 million in Q2 2026, marking the second-highest level for the same period in history, up 82% quarter-on-quarter and down 33% year-on-year, with earnings per share (EPS) of NT$1.93. For the first half of 2026 (January to June), net profit reached NT$831 million, down 18% year-on-year, with EPS at NT$2.98.
Asia Optical's revenue for Q2 2026 was NT$8.028 billion, with a gross margin of 18.4%, up 1.1 percentage points quarter-on-quarter but down 1.6 percentage points year-on-year. The net profit of NT$537 million was influenced by non-operating factors such as interest income, foreign exchange losses, and other items.
For the first half of 2026, revenue totaled NT$14.238 billion, with a gross margin of 17.9%, down 0.84 percentage points year-on-year. Net profit for the first half reached NT$831 million, down 18% year-on-year, with EPS at NT$2.98.
Looking ahead to Q3, Asia Optical stated it will continue advancing three key growth opportunities: full-scale promotion of humanoid robot lenses, actively demonstrating G+P technological advantages, accelerating R&D of AR/VR, Metalens, and AI application products, timely launching market-anticipated products, and ensuring smooth production at new overseas manufacturing sites.
Additionally, Asia Optical is a pioneer in Metalens advanced technology, leveraging direct nanoimprint lithography (NIL) to enter the CPO (co-packaged optics) field. At the same time, capitalizing on its expertise in precision manufacturing, the company is expanding into the data center market and deepening its strategic partnership with Frore Systems to develop liquid cooling thermal management solutions that address the growing heat challenges in AI data centers.
