The band 'Seizer,' which participated in the 'Open Lab Talent Development Program' jointly promoted by Taipei Pop Music Center and ASELS Cultural and Educational Foundation, recently performed at Thailand's iconic Monster Music Festival through Beijingliu's matchmaking, becoming the only overseas group invited to perform this year and marking the band's first appearance on a major international music festival stage. Through Beijingliu's ongoing talent development and international exchange programs, Seizer successfully brought their music overseas and experienced the highest-scale stage production of their career.

For this performance, the organizers provided large-scale festival-standard equipment such as a dedicated drum riser and live real-time big screens—configurations the Seizer members had never experienced before. Seeing their performance on a large screen in real time for the first time, the band members shyly said: 'It was our first time performing on a stage with live video playback on a big screen. The camera kept zooming in on our facial expressions, and we couldn’t see how we looked—we felt a bit shy.'

A unique spicy twist in sweet musical vibes! Seizer's heavy rock震撼ed Thai audiences across language barriers

Making their debut at an overseas music festival, Seizer specially curated a setlist that best represents their musical identity, aiming to leave a strong impression on international audiences encountering them for the first time within a short 40-minute performance. Unlike most other acts at the festival, which leaned toward pop and ballad styles, Seizer took the stage with explosive heavy rock energy, standing out as the most distinctive presence. The members joked: 'We’re like the seasoning at Monster Music Festival—adding a little spice to the sweet and soft atmosphere!'

Facing hundreds of Thai music fans, despite the language barrier, Seizer successfully transcended linguistic differences through solid live instrumentation, tight and fluid arrangements, and high-energy stage presence. The audience swayed and cheered along, quickly forming a strong connection with the band. Additionally, several fans from Taiwan traveled specifically to support the band, bringing the members both surprise and warmth.

Inspired by overseas artists! Lucky encounter with Full Step guitarist leads to successful photo op—Bassist Henry declares: 'I need to seriously learn English!'

In addition to their stage performance, Seizer took the rare opportunity to observe performances across various stages at the festival, experiencing up close the diverse musical landscape of Thailand—from bands and singer-songwriters to idol groups.

The members also shared their 'fan moment' backstage, deeply impressed by Thai artists HYE and the band Full Step. They even had the good fortune to meet Full Step’s guitarist and take a photo together. Vocalist Jen-Chieh excitedly said: 'Full Step’s style is incredibly charming—I really want to be friends with them!' Bassist Henry joked: 'I need to seriously learn English to have deeper exchanges with more international musicians!'

From Open Lab to the international stage—Seizer: 'Thank you to Beijingliu and ASELS for supporting us on our musical journey!'

Reflecting on their journey from participating in Beijingliu’s 'Open Lab' to performing on an international stage, Seizer admitted that when the band first formed, all members were still students. Over the past two years, they have continuously grown through live performances in areas such as playing techniques, tone control, equipment usage, and stage presence.

Bassist Henry shared that during their Open Lab participation two years ago, being students, they were naturally a bit stiff on stage. After two years of live performance experience, they were clearly more relaxed and able to enjoy the stage during this overseas performance. However, the members unanimously expressed humility, acknowledging there is still much to learn and improve, and they hope to continue refining their creativity and live performance skills.

Wu Tien-Yu, Chairman of ASELS Cultural and Educational Foundation, stated: 'This year, we are honored to co-promote the 'Open Lab Talent Development Program' with Beijingliu. Seeing Seizer grow from a student band to successfully perform at Thailand’s flagship music festival fills us with deep satisfaction. As a supportive partner for the new generation of musicians, the foundation hopes to continue serving as a solid backing force, accompanying more Taiwanese emerging artists as they grow and shine on the international stage.'

Reflecting on the benefits of Open Lab, Seizer emphasized that the program offered more than just performance opportunities. It allowed creators to fully understand the entire production process—from performance planning and rehearsals to the actual stage—while accumulating practical experience connecting with the industry. They also encouraged newcomers to the music industry: 'If you have the chance, we highly recommend trying it out.'

When asked who they most wanted to thank, Seizer dedicated their overseas performance achievements to the Taipei Pop Music Center, which has supported their growth: 'Without Beijingliu, there would be no Seizer. We will always remember our roots. Thank you for standing by us on our musical journey.'

After completing their performance at Monster Music Festival, Seizer is preparing for their next milestone—the upcoming release of their second album, 'The Missing Page Roster,' with a release concert scheduled at Beijingliu SUB on October 25. They aim to channel the experience and energy gained from their international stage into their next phase of creation and live performances, continuing to amplify the voices of Taiwan’s new generation of bands.
