SinoPac Bank has partnered with Capital Bancorp, its group affiliate, to launch innovative financial services, jointly expanding their business reach into central and southern Taiwan while leveraging technology to broaden financial application scenarios and demonstrate synergistic collaboration. SinoPac Bank stated that by leveraging Capital Bancorp’s long-standing local connections rooted in southern Taiwan, they have for the first time entered a temple in central Taiwan—starting from the 3rd, BDM (Business Deposit Machine) and ATM (Automated Teller Machine) solutions have been installed at Beigang Chaotian Temple. This initiative assists the temple in managing substantial cash inflows, reducing custody risks, and enhancing convenience for worshippers making donations, significantly improving local financial experiences.
With a history exceeding 300 years, Beigang Chaotian Temple is one of Taiwan’s most important regional religious centers. SinoPac Bank noted that managing the large volume of donations from worshippers has become a critical challenge for the temple. The introduction of the BDM enables immediate cash deposit, real-time counting, and automated accounting, synchronizing with bank deposit procedures. This significantly reduces the time cost of manual reconciliation and the risks associated with cash storage.
SinoPac Bank also stated that worshippers can now use the newly installed customized ATM at Beigang Chaotian Temple for cash withdrawals and making donations. The back of transaction receipts features a Q-version image of Mazu and fortune-telling poems. Since 2015, SinoPac has led the industry in customizing ATMs for temples, accumulating extensive cooperative experience.
Meanwhile, the Financial Supervisory Commission approved the merger between SinoPac Bank and Capital Bancorp in July, highlighting their complementary strengths in branch networks, core businesses, and customer base management. SinoPac Bank emphasized that this joint effort to support Beigang Chaotian Temple’s cash flow management leverages Capital Bancorp’s local institutional connections and deep access to religious centers, combined with SinoPac’s innovative and diversified financial solutions, co-creating convenient and trustworthy financial experiences.
In addition to temple networks like Beigang Chaotian Temple, SinoPac Bank also collaborates with large retail operators such as department stores and shopping malls, deploying BDMs to optimize cash management operations.
