EVA Air (2618-TW) announced today (5th) the launch of a direct route between Taoyuan and Delhi, India, starting December 1, 2026, with bookings now open. EVA Air is currently the only Taiwanese airline operating direct flights to India, offering five weekly flights. Tickets can be booked via EVA Air’s official website www.evaair.com or through major travel agencies.
EVA Air CEO Sun Jia-Ming stated that with the global expansion of technology industries such as electronics manufacturing, AI, and semiconductors, major companies including Foxconn (2317-TW), MediaTek (2454-TW), Delta Electronics (2308-TW), and Wistron (3231-TW) have established operations in India. The launch of the Delhi route not only creates an efficient business travel corridor but also strengthens multilateral economic, trade, and industrial ties. He emphasized that this marks a significant milestone in EVA Air’s expansion into the South Asian market and the enhancement of its global network.
Sun also highlighted that upon arrival at Taoyuan International Airport, passengers can seamlessly connect to India and North America through EVA Air’s extensive route network, experiencing a convenient and comfortable new transit corridor.
Currently, travelers to India often face inconvenient connections via Bangkok or Hong Kong. The launch of EVA Air’s direct Delhi service will greatly enhance the convenience of business and leisure travel. Through a strategic partnership with Star Alliance member Air India, passengers can extend their journeys to major Indian cities.
Indian travelers, in turn, can conveniently transfer at Taoyuan to EVA Air’s 10 direct destinations in North America, linking the vast markets of India, Taiwan, and North America. This serves diverse traveler segments including technology conferences, academic exchanges, study abroad, and family visits. Indian nationals traveling to the U.S. and Canada also benefit from conditional visa-free entry to Taiwan, enabling future plans for packages such as a "half-day tour of Taiwan," enriching travel experiences and boosting Taiwan’s tourism industry.
Delhi, India, is not only a hub for the nation’s economy, culture, and transportation but also a metropolitan area with over 30 million residents. It is an international city that blends historical heritage with modern development.
In tourism, India is a must-visit destination for many, with the iconic Taj Mahal—one of the Seven Wonders of the World—at the heart of the popular “Golden Triangle” route connecting Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur.
EVA Air, in collaboration with partner travel agencies, offers 7- to 10-day group tour packages. These include UNESCO World Heritage sites, historic cities, local cultural experiences, specialty markets, religious architecture, palace tours, yoga sessions, and local cuisine. Accommodations feature international five-star hotels and palace hotels, with professional Mandarin-speaking guides to deliver a unique and unforgettable Indian experience.
EVA Air continues to receive international acclaim for its superior service and flight safety. It was ranked No. 1 in Travel + Leisure’s 2026 World’s Best International Airlines, has been named a SKYTRAX 5-Star Airline for 11 consecutive years, and was listed 11th in AirlineRatings.com’s World’s 25 Best Airlines and 8th in the World’s 25 Safest Airlines.
