However, forex market trading became sluggish in the afternoon, and dollar buying emerged, causing the appreciation to narrow, and the closing rate was 32.261, up 5.4 points, marking a new high since July 20.
Observing the performance of major currencies against the dollar today, according to central bank statistics, the dollar index fell 0.07%, and Asian currencies had mixed performance. The New Taiwan Dollar appreciated 0.17%, the yuan remained stable, the Korean won depreciated 0.16%, the yen depreciated 0.09%, and the Singapore dollar depreciated slightly by 0.02%.
U.S. President Trump and several U.S. officials have stated that the important agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz is nearing completion, and oil prices have since plummeted, with the dollar index also falling below 100.
