Taiwan-based PC brand Acer (2353-TW) announced its second-quarter financial results today (6th). The company reported a net profit of NT$2.17 billion for Q2, representing a 209.3% increase quarter-on-quarter and a 100.2% rise year-on-year, with earnings per share (EPS) at NT$0.72. Acer stated that its multiple business engine strategy continues to deliver results, leading to the highest post-pandemic quarterly net profit and strong overall profitability.

Acer's Q2 revenue reached NT$85.3 billion, up 17.8% quarter-on-quarter and 28.2% year-on-year. Gross margin stood at 11.4%, up 0.2 percentage points from the previous quarter and 1.3 percentage points year-on-year. Operating profit was NT$1.78 billion, up 122% quarter-on-quarter and 142.9% year-on-year. Operating margin improved to 2.1%, up 1.0 percentage point both sequentially and annually. Net profit after tax was NT$2.17 billion, up 209.3% quarter-on-quarter and 100.2% year-on-year, with EPS at NT$0.72.

For the first half of 2023, Acer's cumulative revenue totaled NT$157.73 billion, up 23.3% year-on-year. Gross margin was 11.3%, up 1.0 percentage point year-on-year. Operating profit reached NT$2.59 billion, up 45.9% year-on-year, with operating margin at 1.6%, up 0.2 percentage points year-on-year. Net profit after tax was NT$2.87 billion, up 79.6% year-on-year, with EPS at NT$0.96.

Acer will host its global next@acer press conference in Berlin, Germany, on September 2, unveiling a series of innovative products and technologies, including AI PCs, thin-and-light designs, gaming series, visual display technologies, connectivity solutions, and smart lifestyle devices.
