Clevo (2362-TW) stated that CPU supply conditions are expected to improve in the second half, supported by inventory buildup demand ahead of the year-end sales season, leading to shipments outperforming the first half. The company maintains its full-year shipment target. Additionally, to meet funding requirements for the C1/D1 development project of its joint venture, Taipei Twin Towers, Clevo will increase capital by a total of NT$5 billion in tranches.
Clevo noted that the global notebook market in the second half continues to face challenges such as extended lead times and rising costs for memory, PCBs, and passive components. Entry-level products and consumer markets with high price sensitivity will be moderately affected. The company will continue optimizing its product mix.
Clevo further emphasized its push to promote high-value touch-enabled models and premium AI PCs. The enterprise market is expected to benefit from the ongoing Windows upgrade cycle and increasing demand for AI integration. Clevo plans to launch an AI PC powered by NVIDIA's (NVDA-US) RTX Spark platform in the first quarter of next year.
In China, through its IT distribution channel Bainao Hui, Clevo continues to deepen collaborations with AI-related brands. Stores are introducing a diverse range of AI products, including notebooks, smartphones, imaging devices, AI learning machines, and smart robots. The company is advancing digital retail transformation by integrating AI applications with offline experiential scenarios to build differentiated competitive advantages.
Chicony Plaza Department Store, in which Clevo holds a 30% stake, is also expected to benefit from key promotional periods in the second half, including summer peak season, anniversary sales, Double 11, Double 12, and year-end promotions. These events are expected to further boost operational momentum at its core locations in Wuhan and Chengdu. The company remains committed to cost control and revenue growth to achieve its profitability targets.
To support the funding needs of the C1/D1 development project by its joint venture, Taipei Twin Towers, Clevo will make phased capital injections totaling NT$5 billion. This brings its cumulative investment to NT$10 billion, with a 50% ownership stake.
The Taipei Twin Towers development project has reached a steel structure height of 245 meters, equivalent to the 48th floor, officially surpassing the nearby Shin Kong Life Tower (244.15 meters) to become the tallest building in Taipei's west district. The project is expected to further drive prosperity at the west gateway of Taipei, creating employment opportunities and economic value.
