Taiwan Life Insurance, a subsidiary of CTBC Financial Holding (2891-TW), is exhibiting at the '3rd Senior Health Industry Expo' starting today (7th) for three days. Chairman Hsu Shu-Po revealed in an interview that Taiwan Life continues to build wellness villages and康养 ecosystems in central and southern Taiwan. The nation's first campus wellness village, 'Chung Hsin Tech Wellness Village,' is scheduled to be completed early next year. Residents can move in for a monthly fee of around NT$40,000 with full furnishings. Taiwan Life has also successfully acquired premium land near Taichung’s Mega Dome and beside Kaohsiung’s Chengcing Lake, expanding its health and wellness footprint across northern, central, and southern Taiwan.

According to Taiwan Life Chairman Hsu Shu-Po, the wellness village located within Chung Hsin University of Science and Technology in Tainan will feature approximately 100 rooms and is expected to be completed by early 2027. Its unique feature lies in integrating wellness living with campus life—residents will hold 'student status' enabling lifelong learning, while enjoying access to on-campus facilities such as the medical center, gymnasium, and vegetable garden.

Hsu emphasized that the entry requirements are highly accessible: no policyholder status or income verification required. The monthly rent is approximately NT$40,000, operating on a 'move-in ready' model with furniture included. Health management services will also be provided. In the future, the company aims to integrate accommodation rights with insurance product design, offering seniors more flexible wellness options.

In addition to the Tainan project, Taiwan Life has successfully acquired land for two major developments—in Kaohsiung beside Chengcing Lake and in Taichung at the Mega Dome site. The Kaohsiung project holds full ownership and is adjacent to Chang Gung Memorial Hospital and Chengcing Lake, planning for 200–250 rooms. It highlights advantages such as immediate access to medical care just across the street and lakeside walking trails. Currently in the design phase, construction is expected to begin next year.

The Taichung Mega Dome project follows a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model, with contract signing expected in September. Located near several major medical centers in Taichung, it will also feature a large-scale wellness village with 200–250 rooms. Last month, Taiwan Life announced its participation in investing in a newly established joint venture SPV to develop the Taichung City Sports Industrial Park BOT project. The total investment amount will not exceed NT$25.86 billion (the total capital of the joint venture), with Taiwan Life holding 99.9% equity. Full ownership is not possible due to restrictions under the Insurance Act.

Chairman Hsu admitted that rising construction costs, extreme heat, and scheduling challenges mean the Taichung and Kaohsiung projects will require at least 5 to 7 years for completion. Taiwan Life is also actively seeking suitable sites in the Greater Taipei area. Additionally, the company is planning social housing in Kaohsiung using a land lease-to-sale model.

At this expo, Taiwan Life debuted a miniature model of the 'Chung Hsin Tech Wellness Village,' showcasing its vision of integrated living, learning, and health management. It also launched an upgraded version of 'Health & Happy Living Concierge 2.0,' introducing the 'Long Come Point (Long Life)' rewards program. Policyholders can accumulate points redeemable for transportation subsidies, health screenings, and other services. A new 'Health & Happy Living Planner' online consultation service was added, connecting over 100 professional care resources to meet policyholders’ silver-age wellness needs in one place.
