Recently, Giant (9921-TW) completed the early repurchase of 4,000 shares of treasury stock at an average price of NT$71.75 per share, representing 1.02% of its total outstanding shares. Following the release of its latest financial results for the first half of 2026, buying interest surged today (10th), pushing the stock price back above the NT$100 mark and reaching a peak of NT$101.5, hitting the daily trading limit.
Giant returned to a growth trajectory in Q2 2026, with revenue reaching NT$16.67 billion, a 5.8% year-on-year increase. The gross margin stood at 24.2%. Net profit for Q2 alone amounted to NT$630 million, a significant 234% year-on-year increase, resulting in an EPS of NT$1.62 for the quarter. For the first half of 2026, total revenue reached NT$29.19 billion, with a gross margin of 22.3%—a 3.2 percentage point improvement year-on-year. Net profit totaled NT$435 million, translating to an EPS of NT$1.11 for the first half.
Giant noted that although its OEM business was affected during the first half by structural factors such as last year's high base period and adjustments in U.S.-bound shipment timing, operating momentum rebounded strongly in Q2. This resurgence was driven by the gradual realization of benefits from new vehicle launches and steady recovery in market demand, returning quarterly revenue to a growth path.
Giant Group's proprietary brand business demonstrated strong resilience in the first half. In the European and American markets, sales growth was fueled by the launch of new annual models. The Chinese market also returned to growth in Q2, with the cumulative decline rate continuing to narrow. Notably, in Q2, the sales of GIANT's newly launched aerodynamic flagship model, the Propel, were exceptionally strong. Additionally, the proportion of high-margin proprietary brand products significantly increased, and clearance sales with heavy discounts were largely avoided, leading to a substantial improvement in profitability.
Looking ahead to the second half, Giant maintains a cautiously optimistic outlook on overall business recovery. Inventory adjustments in the European market are nearing completion. With the arrival of the traditional sales season and the global rollout of new annual models, demand has noticeably warmed up. The Chinese market continues to benefit from stable demand driven by the cycling boom, showing robust performance. However, consumer trends in the U.S. market remain conservative due to geopolitical and external uncertainties. The group will closely monitor market developments and respond flexibly.
Facing global macroeconomic challenges, Giant stated it will continue to drive the proportion of high-margin products through new product launches and leverage its strong brand influence and resilient global distribution network to maintain steady operations and high-quality profitability.
