According to the latest rumors, Apple (AAPL-US) could raise iPhone 17 prices as early as this Monday (August 10), even earlier than the anticipated next wave of price hikes. A larger-scale price adjustment is expected to coincide with the upcoming launch of the iPhone 18 Pro next month.

As reported by MacRumors, a Weibo leaker account named 'Fixed Focus Digital' posted yesterday that market rumors are circulating about an iPhone 17 price adjustment starting August 10.

However, the leaker did not clearly confirm whether prices will actually increase. Instead, the post more confidently stated that Apple has canceled plans to increase production capacity on certain lines by 15% to 30%.

It remains unclear which components or products are affected by this production capacity adjustment.

Due to a significant rise in memory and storage component costs, Apple already raised prices for Mac, iPad, and most other products in June 2024, though iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods, Studio Display, and accessories were unaffected.

Market speculation now suggests that Apple’s next round of price adjustments will primarily target the iPhone 18 Pro.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone next month. In contrast, the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are not expected to debut until spring 2027.

The iPhone 17 is expected to remain Apple’s mainstream model at least through next year, potentially providing sufficient rationale for Apple to independently adjust its pricing before the new generation launches.

If the price hike materializes, it remains uncertain whether the increase will apply across the entire iPhone 17 lineup—including the $599 iPhone 17e, $799 iPhone 17, $999 iPhone Air, $1,099 iPhone 17 Pro, and $1,199 iPhone 17 Pro Max—or only to select models.
