On the 12th, the Taiwan stock market rose significantly, supported by major stocks such as TSMC and Hon Hai, along with strong performances from server ODM, ABF substrate, optical communications, and silicon wafer sectors. The index reached a high of 45,478 points, up approximately 358 points, and remained above the 45,000-point level throughout the day. It closed at 45,518.07 points, up 397.35 points, marking three consecutive green days on the daily chart, with a trading volume of NT$858.732 billion.
Major weighted stocks showed mixed movements: TSMC (2330-TW) rose NT$20 (about 1%) to close at NT$2,415; MediaTek (2454-TW) fell NT$5 (about 0.1%) to NT$4,015. Hon Hai (2317-TW) and Quanta (2382-TW) both gained over 2%; Delta Electronics (2308-TW) fluctuated near the flat line, while ASE Holding (3711-TW) declined by about 1%.
Super Micro Computer's strong financial results and outlook boosted Taiwan's server ODM manufacturers. Aenergy (7711-TW) and Compal (2324-TW) hit their daily trading limits, Inventec (2356-TW) rose about 6%, Quanta gained over 2%, Wistron (6669-TW) rose about 1.6%, and Wistron Corporation (3231-TW) gained over 1%. Among PC brands, MSI (2377-TW) hit the limit up, Gigabyte (2376-TW) rose about 6%, and ASUS (2357-TW) gained about 2%.
Lumentum's strong earnings report drove gains in Taiwan's optical communications sector. United Microelectronics (3081-TW) hit the limit up, IET-KY (4971-TW) rose over 7%, United Power (3450-TW) over 6%, Powertech Technology (3163-TW) about 5%, Sunway Technology (3363-TW) over 4%, and Accton Technology (2345-TW) also rose over 3%.
The ABF substrate sector also strengthened: Nanya PCB (8046-TW) hit the limit up, Kinsus (3189-TW) rose over 1%, and Unimicron (3037-TW) gained nearly 1%.
Silicon wafer stocks surged: GlobalWafers (6488-TW), United Materials (5483-TW), Taiwan Semiconductor (3532-TW), and Holtek Semiconductor (6182-TW) all hit their daily trading limits.
