The Taiwan Stock Exchange and GreTai Securities Market announced today (13th) the imposition of special trading measures on four securities: listed passive component manufacturer Hosintang (3026-TW), PCB maker ITEQ (6213-TW), and over-the-counter listed optical communications firms Walsin Lihwa (4979-TW) and Uni-Vast KY (4991-TW). During the restriction period, trading for these stocks will switch from continuous auction to manual matching, with orders matched every two minutes. The measures will take effect from tomorrow (14th) through August 20, covering five trading days.
Reason for Hosintang's restriction: The cumulative closing price increase over the past six trading days reached 25.28%. The price difference between the closing prices from six trading days ago to two trading days ago amounted to NT$98. Additionally, the turnover rate on August 13 was 15.04%, and the closing price increase from 90 trading days ago to two trading days ago reached 358.42%.
Reason for ITEQ's restriction: The cumulative closing price increase over the past six trading days reached 33.04%. The price difference between the closing prices from six trading days ago to two trading days ago amounted to NT$94.
Reason for Walsin Lihwa's restriction: The P/E ratio on the day was 101.99, and the price-to-book ratio (PBR) was 19.43, which is 2.79 times the average PBR of its industry category. The daily turnover rate reached 18.56%.
Reason for Uni-Vast KY's restriction: The P/E ratio on the day was 197.52, and the PBR was 13.56, which is 2.73 times the average PBR of its industry category. The daily turnover rate reached 7.14%. U.S.-based Goldman Sachs Asia Securities purchased NT$682 million worth of the security on that day, accounting for 16.12% of the total trading volume. A single investor also bought NT$682 million worth of the security, representing 16.12% of the total trading volume on that day.
