Intel (INTC-US) CEO Lip-Bu Tan will invest $12 million of personal capital into the company’s expanded $20 billion stock offering. This move is being widely interpreted as a powerful vote of confidence in Intel’s strategic direction. According to an amended filing submitted Wednesday (12th) to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Tan and a family member have agreed to collectively purchase $12 million worth of new Intel shares.

On Tuesday, Intel priced 210.5 million new shares at $95 per share, increasing the fundraising target from the previously announced $15 billion to $20 billion. The underwriters were also granted a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 31.58 million shares.

Daniel Newman, CEO of Futurum Group, highlighted this investment on social platform X, stating: 'Lip-Bu Tan putting $12M of his own money into Intel’s recent capital raise should be seen as a strong confidence vote in the company’s future.' He added, 'I always welcome when founders and executives put their own risk capital into a transaction.'

The fundraising comes shortly after Intel reported its strongest revenue growth in years, providing fresh capital to advance its artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives. Intel’s second-quarter revenue reached $16.13 billion, a 25% year-over-year increase; adjusted earnings per share (EPS) came in at $0.42, surpassing Wall Street expectations. The company forecasts third-quarter revenue between $15.8 billion and $16.8 billion, with adjusted EPS of $0.38.

Intel has cited robust demand for AI data centers as one of the key growth drivers and has raised its 2026 capital expenditure forecast from $18 billion to $20 billion.

In market performance, Intel closed Wednesday at $100.95, up 3.32%. According to Benzinga Pro data, the stock rose another 0.21% in after-hours trading to $101.17.
