Leading display manufacturer AUO Corporation (2409-TW) has received strong support from the financial sector. Today (14th), the five-year, NT$40 billion joint credit facility, co-organized by First Commercial Bank and Bank of Taiwan, officially completed signing. Due to enthusiastic market response, the loan attracted participation from 23 financial institutions, with total committed credit amounting to NT$104.8 billion—2.62 times the original target—exceeding expectations and reflecting high confidence from the banking consortium in AUO’s management capabilities and future development.

First Commercial Bank and Bank of Taiwan served as the Mandated Lead Arrangers and Bookrunners for this syndicated loan. Proceeds will be used to repay existing financial liabilities, strengthen mid-term working capital, and procure renewable energy and green power certificates. Notably, the entire process—from launch to final syndication—took less than two months, swiftly finalized thanks to robust lender participation, underscoring continued strong market support for Taiwan’s leading technology enterprises.

In recent years, AUO has actively advanced its transformation strategy, evolving from a traditional panel manufacturer into a provider of optoelectronic solutions. Centered on display technology, the company is developing high-value products and integrated system services. Its current operations focus on three strategic pillars: Display Technology, Mobility Solutions, and Vertical Solutions—diversifying its business to enhance operational resilience and profitability.

In the mobility sector, AUO has recently completed the acquisition of a German Tier-1 automotive supplier and, through its subsidiary AUO Mobility, entered global automakers’ supply chains. It is expanding into smart cockpit, in-vehicle displays, and integrated solution markets, capturing rapid growth opportunities in automotive electronics. Meanwhile, its subsidiary AUO Display Plus (ADP) is deepening its presence in smart healthcare, smart retail, enterprise applications, and education markets, continuously broadening its vertical domain footprint.

Amid the global wave of artificial intelligence, AUO has established the 'Innovation Research Institute' as a group-level platform for forward-looking technologies and innovative applications. This initiative drives the integration of AI into products and services, accelerates commercialization of R&D outcomes, and strengthens the group’s long-term competitiveness and growth momentum.

Beyond its transformation achievements, AUO has also earned international recognition for its sustainability performance. As the first company in the global display industry to join the RE100 initiative, AUO was the first to commit to using 100% renewable energy by 2050. In recent years, the company has consistently received top ratings in international ESG assessments, including ranking among the top 5% of companies in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook, achieving double-A ratings from CDP, and most recently, having its MSCI ESG Rating upgraded from A to AA—highlighting its excellence in environmental governance and sustainable business practices.

In corporate governance, AUO has been ranked in the top 5% of TWSE’s Corporate Governance Evaluation for several consecutive years and has received accolades such as the Corporate Sustainability Award and the Family-Friendly Workplace Award, continuously enhancing its brand image and global competitiveness.

As a co-lead arranger, First Commercial Bank has actively cultivated the technology sector financing market, with deep involvement in key industries such as AI, semiconductors, and electronic supply chains. Market statistics show that in the first half of 2026, First Bank ranked first as a Mandated Lead Arranger (MLA) and second as a Bookrunner in Taiwan’s syndicated loan market, maintaining its leading position. The bank stated it will continue to support corporate innovation, upgrading, and sustainable transformation through syndicated loans and diversified financial services, leveraging the financial sector’s role in capital allocation to help enterprises seize opportunities in AI and green economic development.

Market analysts note that as the panel industry gradually stabilizes and demand for automotive and AI applications continues to grow, AUO’s proactive dual-axis transformation and high-value strategic positioning have steadily gained recognition from capital markets and banking groups. The fact that this NT$40 billion loan attracted over NT$100 billion in funding not only reflects the financial sector’s endorsement of AUO’s operational fundamentals but also signals strong market confidence in its long-term growth potential driven by smart mobility, AI applications, and sustainable transformation.
