Server chassis manufacturer Chin-Poon (8210-TW) is entering the second-half peak season with positive outlooks on customer demand, project progress, and follow-up orders. Numerous projects have advanced into Proof of Concept (POC) and New Product Introduction (NPI) stages, driving Chin-Poon’s stock upward today (18th), as it strives to reclaim the monthly moving average line.
Chin-Poon opened with a gap up at NT$1,040 in early trading, reaching a high of NT$1,070—surpassing half of the daily price limit—before moderating gains. As of 9:30 AM, the stock was trading at NT$1,055, up over 4%, ranking 49th among Taiwan's 'thousand-dollar stocks,' with approximately 800 traded lots. However, the three major institutional investors have cumulatively sold short 3,626 lots over the past seven consecutive trading days.
Chin-Poon acknowledges ongoing uncertainties such as geopolitical tensions and supply chain restructuring. Nevertheless, based on observed customer demand, project timelines, and future order pipelines, the company maintains that the long-term trend for AI development remains intact. It anticipates an initial consolidation followed by a strong rebound in operations during the second half, resulting in an overall positive outlook.
Analysts indicate that rack momentum will extend into next year. NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin platform is expected to secure a new U.S.-based client purchasing the VR200 model next year, with Chin-Poon serving as one of the chassis suppliers. Additionally, Chin-Poon is collaborating with a Taiwanese system integrator to provide chassis and rack solutions for the same U.S. client’s Vera series products. The Vera rack is anticipated to become a key growth driver for Chin-Poon, with expectations of double-digit year-on-year revenue growth next year.
To meet robust customer demand, Chin-Poon plans to build a new factory in Vietnam focused primarily on rack production. The facility is expected to begin operations as early as the fourth quarter of 2023 through the first quarter of 2024. Combined with existing rack production capacities in Texas (USA), China, and Taiwan, this expansion will further strengthen and optimize Chin-Poon’s global rack business footprint.
