According to CNBC, Anthropic's annualized revenue reached $65 billion by the end of July, an approximately sevenfold increase from the same period last year.

The developer of Claude has recently seen a significant rise in popularity in the enterprise market. Three sources familiar with the matter said that Anthropic disclosed this figure to investors during a weekend update on its operations.

This update comes as Anthropic prepares for a highly anticipated IPO. The company secretly filed its prospectus with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in June and has recently begun preliminary talks with potential investors. However, it has not yet officially announced a timeline for going public.

Sources said Anthropic also provided investors with preliminary data showing second-quarter revenue of $11.5 billion, a 14-fold year-on-year increase.

In May, Anthropic stated that its annualized revenue run rate had already surpassed $47 billion. In contrast, its actual full-year revenue for 2025 is estimated to be around $10 billion. Meanwhile, Anthropic's main competitor, OpenAI, has recently reached an annualized revenue of $40 billion.

Anthropic is now aiming to demonstrate to investors that its valuation of $965 billion is justified, while also showcasing its continued growth momentum.

In June, Anthropic temporarily suspended access to its two most advanced AI models—Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5—due to compliance with a U.S. government export control directive.

After about two weeks of tense negotiations, Anthropic eventually restored access to both models. However, this incident did not fully dispel market concerns about the increasingly strained relationship between Anthropic and the Trump administration. Earlier this year, Anthropic was blacklisted by the U.S. Department of Defense after discussions over how the U.S. military could use its AI models spiraled out of control.

In a blog post in June, Anthropic said, 'We look forward to further deepening our collaboration with the government. We also thank users for their patience during the service disruption and the researchers and industry partners who helped restore access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5.'
