According to CNN on the 18th (Tuesday), a US official revealed that President Trump has directed senior government envoys to suspend dialogue with Iran.

A source familiar with the matter said White House officials have recently conveyed to political allies that the US is shifting strategy—from 'striking Iran as quickly as possible' to 'suffocating them over time.'

The US official said Trump's order for the negotiation team—including Vice President Vance, envoy Witkoff, and Trump's son-in-law Kushner—to temporarily halt contact with Iran came after several 'positive discussions' between the US and Iran.

The official stated that Trump remains dissatisfied with Iran's unwillingness to comply with US demands. He intends to wait until Iranian leaders demonstrate renewed willingness to reach the kind of agreement he seeks before resuming contact.
