ASRock (3515-TW) subsidiary Dongqing Technology (7710-TW) today announced that its iEP-5010G-DCN edge controller has successfully achieved IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 3 (SL3) certification, becoming the world's first host-device industrial computer to receive SL3 certification. The product adopts a hardware-based security architecture and integrates post-quantum cryptography readiness to address evolving cybersecurity requirements and the challenges posed by future encryption technologies.

As cyber threats targeting industrial infrastructure continue to rise, mission-critical OT environments are facing increasingly stringent demands for cybersecurity resilience. Achieving IEC 62443-4-2 SL3 certification demonstrates that the iEP-5010G-DCN possesses advanced cybersecurity protection capabilities, helping to mitigate risks from various advanced cyberattack scenarios, including unauthorized access, firmware tampering, credential theft, and system integrity compromise.

The iEP-5010G-DCN integrates TPM 2.0, FIDO2 authentication, BIOS and Secure Boot protection, and tamper-detection mechanisms. It also features a hardware root of trust with post-quantum cryptography readiness, provided by leading hardware security module supplier Winbond Security Technology, supporting NIST FIPS 203/204 standards. Encryption keys are securely isolated within a dedicated Hardware Security Module (HSM), reducing the risk of unauthorized access and extraction. Through multi-layered hardware and software cybersecurity protection mechanisms, the iEP-5010G-DCN not only helps enterprises strengthen current cybersecurity resilience but also prepares them for the future post-quantum era.

The iEP-5010G-DCN is specifically designed for hazardous and harsh industrial environments, certified for international hazardous location standards including ATEX Zone 2, IECEx, and UL C1D2. It features a conformal coating compliant with EIA-364-65A Class IIIA corrosion protection standards, enabling stable operation in G3-level corrosive environments and meeting deployment requirements for explosive and corrosive industrial settings.

The product features a fanless rugged design powered by an Intel® Atom® x6425RE (Elkhart Lake) processor, supporting In-band ECC memory and flexible I/O expansion. It operates reliably in a wide temperature range of -40°C to 70°C, supports deployment at altitudes up to 3,000 meters, and accepts 6–36V DC wide-voltage input, delivering stable and reliable edge computing performance. The iEP-5010G-DCN is suitable for oil and gas, mining and metals, chemical processing, water and wastewater treatment, and energy infrastructure applications, providing a dependable edge computing platform for critical industrial systems that require long-term stable operation and compliance with safety regulations.
