Ying Shuo (6677-TW) has signed an exclusive pharmaceutical licensing agreement with South Korea's YS, granting the company exclusive rights to develop and commercialize its extended-release orodispersible tablet for treating urinary dysfunction caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia (marketed in Taiwan as 'Yi Li Shu') in the Korean market, aiming to capture a $100 million business opportunity.

General Manager Yen Lin-Chuan explained that the drug involved in this collaboration is already an approved prescription medication in Taiwan under the brand name 'Yi Li Shu Extended-Release Orodipsersible Tablets.' The current market size for drugs with the same active ingredient in South Korea is approximately $100 million. However, orodispersible tablets, which require high technical expertise, are still dominated by originator brands, holding about 30% market share. This partnership with YS aims to further penetrate this high-barrier segment and capture market share.

Operationally, Ying Shuo benefited from strong export performance of its psychiatric medication 'Milnacipran Hydrochloride Capsules,' domestic supply of 'Gai Yi Qing' for severe acne that fills a local pharmaceutical gap, and continuously increasing production and shipment volumes of 'Xin Qing Tablets' under special project orders. These factors boosted August revenue to NT$91.86 million, a 46.36% year-on-year increase, marking the third consecutive month above the NT$90 million threshold. Cumulative revenue for the first eight months of the year reached NT$642 million, up 17.68% year-on-year, setting a new historical high for the same period.

Ying Shuo stated that with ongoing optimization of its product portfolio and the visible benefits of its overseas expansion strategy, coupled with stable demand in essential markets and the maturation of domestic and international drug approvals, the outlook for the next quarter is clear. The company remains cautiously optimistic about its second-half performance.
