About 86% of people with unwanted items have hesitated in choosing a disposal company. The top reason for not requesting is 'seems expensive' at about 52%

A survey conducted by NEXER Inc. and Aiwa Clean LLC on 500 men and women nationwide revealed that 26.8% of respondents have unwanted items they want to dispose of, with home appliances (49.3%) and furniture (35.1%) being the most common. The top reason for wanting to dispose of these items is that they are no longer used (64.2%). However, 51.5% have not yet requested disposal because they believe it will be expensive. Furthermore, 85.9% of those with unwanted items admitted to being confused about which disposal company to choose, citing reasons such as the difficulty in comparing numerous companies and the fear of encountering malicious businesses.
