Real Estate Survey: How People Choose Custom Home Builders

Custom homes offer the freedom to design layouts from scratch, but the satisfaction levels vary greatly depending on the builder. In collaboration with Deccs Inc., we conducted a survey of 150 individuals who have purchased custom homes.

50.0% Used Housing Exhibitions for Research The most common method for gathering information was visiting housing exhibitions (50.0%), followed by referrals from acquaintances or family (30.7%) and official websites (17.3%). Even in the digital age, physical exhibitions play a crucial role as entry points for home buyers.

59.3% Compared Only Two or Fewer Companies When asked about the number of companies compared, 43.3% considered only one, and 16.0% compared two. Combined, nearly 60% made their decision with limited comparisons. This trend may be influenced by bundled sales of land and buildings or early-stage referrals.

Price is the Top Deciding Factor at 22.0% The final deciding factor was price at 22.0%, followed by floor plans and design proposals (16.0%), and housing performance and staff response (14.0% each). For such a significant life purchase, cost-effectiveness remains the highest priority for many consumers.
