### Awareness Survey on 'Coaching' in Education and Exams

While many families use cram schools to support their children's learning, attention is increasingly shifting toward 'coaching'—a method that includes study plan management and mental support, rather than just traditional lecturing.

In collaboration with the 'Top 7 Tokyo Medical Prep Schools Comparison' secretariat, a survey was conducted among 200 parents with children who have attended cram schools.

#### Survey Overview - Method: Online Questionnaire - Period: March 30 – April 9, 2026 - Valid Responses: 200 samples

#### 66.5% Recognize the Term 'Coaching' Regarding awareness, 37.0% had 'heard of it,' 20.5% 'knew the word but not details,' and 9.0% 'understood the content.' While many are familiar with the term, only 9.0% have a deep understanding of its implementation.

#### 61.0% Imagine it as 'Support to Draw Out Motivation' The most common image was 'support to draw out motivation' (61.0%), followed by 'management and guidance of study plans' (44.1%) and 'mental support' (39.0%). It is expected to play a role in fostering independent learning.

#### 60.0% Consider Coaching/Support 'Important' A total of 60.0% (21.0% 'very important' + 39.0% 'somewhat important') of parents feel coaching is crucial. Meanwhile, 29.5% answered 'don't know,' suggesting the concept is still in the process of gaining widespread adoption.

**Reasons for Importance (Excerpt):** 'Children often do not know or cannot think about the most suitable study methods or time allocation for themselves.' (Female, 30s)
