Survey on Ways to Enjoy 'Rail + Travel'

Traveling by Shinkansen to a destination, or leisurely watching the scenery from a local train—there are many ways to enjoy rail travel. ### Primary Motivations and Anticipations

- Primary Motivations: The most common reason for rail travel was 'wanted to enjoy the scenery from the train window' (55.4%), followed by 'wanted to visit hot springs or tourist spots' (49.6%) and 'wanted to ride a specific train car' (37.2%). - Key Anticipations: Similarly, the most anticipated aspect was 'scenery from the window' (65.3%), followed by 'meals, ekiben (station bento), and local cuisine' (48.8%), and 'the train itself (car, interior, seats)' (41.3%).
