To further strengthen the dissemination of Japanese culture and the overseas expansion of its content, NHK has agreed with Netflix to sequentially stream a total of 19 popular past dramas, including Taiga Dramas and Serial TV Novels. This initiative provides NHK's high-quality content for a fee in response to requests from streaming providers, based on the Broadcast Act. By partnering with Netflix, one of the world's largest video streaming services with extensive multilingual support and subtitle functions, NHK aims to deliver its content not only within Japan but to the world, fostering a deeper understanding of Japanese society and culture abroad. The distribution will begin on June 22, 2026, across the globe, including Japan.
