COMICO ART MUSEUM YUFUIN Undergoes Major Exhibition Renewal! First Permanent Display of Works by World-Renowned Contemporary Artist Lee Ufan

NHN JAPAN Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Hyun-sik Ahn) has announced a major renewal of the exhibition at its contemporary art museum, "COMICO ART MUSEUM YUFUIN" in Yufuin-cho, Yufu City, Oita Prefecture, which took place on April 12, 2026, after approximately three years and nine months. The new exhibition space is now open to the public. In this renewal, seven representative works by Lee Ufan, a contemporary artist based in Japan with high international acclaim, have been unveiled as the museum's first permanent exhibition by an overseas artist. Furthermore, previously unexhibited works by Yayoi Kusama, Yoshitomo Nara, and Takashi Murakami have also been added. Within the architectural space designed by Kengo Kuma, which harmonizes with the surrounding nature, visitors can enjoy a diverse collection of works by renowned domestic and international artists. With the addition of these new works, the space has become even more accessible for both art enthusiasts and first-time visitors to enjoy the charm of contemporary art. COMICO ART MUSEUM YUFUIN opened in October 2017 and had its grand opening in July 2022 following an expansion of the exhibition area. With the 10th anniversary approaching in 2027, this renewal is part of new initiatives leading up to that milestone.
