Nihon Chouzai Co., Ltd., which provides new value for pharmacies, announced that it has begun selling its private brand '5COINS PHARMA,' which supports self-medication, at 49 pharmacies operated by Takasa Co., Ltd. '5COINS PHARMA' is a series of OTC drugs (over-the-counter medicines) priced at a flat 550 yen (tax included) in principle. Developed based on the idea that the price of OTC drugs is one of the challenges in promoting self-medication, the series consists of 40 items that focus on quality and the amount of active ingredients. This series has been performing well, with sales up 170% compared to the same period last year, and has a track record of being handled by approximately 110 companies and 1,100 stores, including other pharmacies, electronics retailers, and the online store 'Amazon.'
