IR Engineer Education Institute will hold a public seminar on paper handling technology essential for copiers, printers, scanners, and ATMs. Participants will systematically learn the basic principles of separation (feeding), transport, and stacking, design concepts, and the basics of common troubles that occur in each process.
In devices that handle paper media, paper handling technology determines product reliability and performance. On the other hand, the behavior of paper, a flexible medium, is complex, and systematic knowledge is indispensable for mechanism design and control. Because this field often relies on empirical rules, there is a need to develop human resources who can approach design and evaluation based on fundamental theory.
Seminar Overview
Seminar Name: Paper Handling Technology Introductory Course (Introduction)
Date and Time: July 27, 2026 (Monday) 13:30-16:30
Format: Online via ZOOM
Fee: 29,700 yen per person (tax included)
Instructor: Keiichi Suzuki (Representative, Suzuki Technical Engineer Office)
Course Details
This seminar covers the basic processes of paper handling technology: separation (feeding), transport, and stacking. Participants will systematically learn the types and basic principles of representative mechanisms and key design points. Additionally, the seminar will organize important points such as the concept of transport force and transport resistance, the entry angle of paper media, the causes and basic countermeasures for troubles likely to occur in each process, and points of focus during evaluation.
Seminar Program
1) Basics of Separation (Feeding) Mechanisms
Various separation mechanisms / Basic principles / Design concepts / Troubles in separation mechanisms 2) Basics of Transport Mechanisms
Various transport mechanisms / Design of transport mechanisms / Transport force and transport resistance / Troubles in transport mechanisms 3) Basics of Stacking Mechanisms
Various stacking mechanisms / Design of stacking mechanisms / Entry angle of paper media / Troubles in stacking mechanisms
Target Audience
Engineers newly involved in the design and development of copiers, printers, scanners, ATMs, etc.
Engineers newly involved in the design and development of devices handling paper media
