Practical Seminar on Pest Control and Foreign Object Countermeasures in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

The IR Engineer Education Research Institute is hosting a public seminar to organize everything from the basic concepts of GMP to practical procedures regarding pest control and foreign object countermeasures required at pharmaceutical manufacturing sites. The seminar will touch upon Contamination Control Strategy (CCS) and points checked during inspections, allowing participants to learn concepts and case studies in a way that can be reproduced for daily site management.

In pharmaceutical manufacturing, hygiene management and the prevention of foreign object contamination are critical themes from the perspectives of product quality and patient safety. On the other hand, there are challenges where pest and foreign object countermeasures become "left to contractors" or "cleaning-centric," making it difficult to identify vulnerabilities in buildings, equipment, and operations, which often leads to observations during audits and inspections.

Course Details

This seminar reframes pest control and foreign object countermeasures in pharmaceutical factories not merely as "hygiene tasks," but as site management based on GMP. It covers CCS (Contamination Control Strategy), hygiene education, and perspectives emphasized during inspections. For pest management, it introduces the viewpoint of deciphering root causes—such as building airtightness and construction flaws—from the occurrence context, along with examples of organizational development, equipment improvement, and cleanroom handling. For foreign object management, it explains the deep dive into causal factors, investigation, recurrence prevention, and the utilization of inspection equipment.
