Oisix Niigata Albirex Baseball Club is pleased to announce that as part of its 20th anniversary collaboration project with the Jogomachi Shopping Street, it has created a map highlighting recommended spots, focusing on stores where players served as "one-day managers" during last year's Supporter Appreciation Day. The map will be displayed at the stadium and throughout the Jogomachi Shopping Street.

In March, the first phase of the project, featuring "Introduction Posters of All Players," began, and this map marks the second initiative.

We hope you will take a look and enjoy exploring Jogomachi while learning more about our players.

Background of the 20th Anniversary Collaboration

Both Jogomachi Shopping Street and Oisix Niigata Albirex BC are celebrating their 20th anniversaries in 2026.

Furthermore, last November, the "Supporter Appreciation Day" was held at Furumachi Shopping Street. Players served as "one-day managers" at stores in Jogomachi, and at "Furumachi Penguin Shoten," known for its delicious tonjiru (pork miso soup), the event, which lasted two hours, resulted in approximately six times the usual customer traffic compared to a typical weekend day, marking a great success.

Oisix Niigata Albirex BC operates under the management philosophy of "Regional Revitalization through Hometown Professional Baseball," engaging in initiatives to contribute to regional activation and solve local issues.

Through this collaboration with Jogomachi Shopping Street, which also celebrates its 20th anniversary, we aim to create opportunities for supporters to visit Jogomachi, learn about our players, and encourage them to come to the stadium.

About Jogomachi Shopping Street

Jogomachi Shopping Street is a temple town stretching approximately 500 meters, located on the edge of Niigata City's central urban area. It is a compact shopping street lined with unique and specialized stores. You'll find not only stylish shops but also delicious cafes, popular restaurants, distinctive雑貨 stores, and guesthouses. Each store expresses a unique world curated by its dedicated managers and owners. It's a nostalgic shopping street where you can feel history and the presence of people, with some residents living in wooden tenement houses.

We hope you have a fun and meaningful time.

Jogomachi Shopping Street

Niigata City, the first designated city on the Sea of Japan side. Proceeding south from Niigata City Hall, the administrative center, you'll find the large red torii gate, the symbol of the main shrine, Hakusan Shrine. Connecting to it, Furumachi Dori extends continuously from Ichibancho to Jusancho. The upper part (Kami), meaning the shallower numbered blocks (Ichibancho to Yonchōme), is Jogomachi Shopping Street.

In 2004, volunteers from Furumachi Ichibancho to Yonchōme established the "Jogomachi Town Development Promotion Council." After repeated study sessions with the "NPO Machizukuri Gakko" and "Niigata City Hall," the "Niigata City Jogomachi Shopping Street Promotion Association" was formed in 2006.

Along the 500-meter stretch, about 100 stores of various industries stand side-by-side, with historic long-established businesses coexisting with unique new shops.

Furthermore, Jogomachi Shopping Street retains many attractive cultural assets that evoke history and atmosphere, such as its alleyway culture, spaces, and the aforementioned old established stores. Shrines and temples are also scattered throughout.

It's a delightful area for a leisurely stroll, with public facilities nearby including Hakusan Park, which became Japan's first park and is home to Hakusan Shrine; the Niigata Prefectural Assembly Hall, a valuable wooden architectural building; Niigata City Hall; the Niigata University Hospital; the "Niigata Prefectural Civic Center," offering various stage performances; the "Niigata City Performing Arts Center (Ryuto Pia)"; the "Music Culture Hall"; and the "Niigata City Athletic Stadium." Its location is exceptionally favorable.
