Nasu Highland Park, under Japan Theme Park Development Co., Ltd.—part of the NPD (Nihon Chushajou Kaihatsu) Group's regional transformation (RX) initiative—will open a new attraction, 'Water Nasu Athletic,' on Friday, July 17, 2026, as a summer-only experience.

This attraction is a large-scale water athletic course installed in a temporary pool approximately 35 meters in length. It is an interactive activity where guests progress by clearing various floating stages on the pool, with multiple difficulty levels designed to be enjoyable for both children and adults.

Safety has been prioritized: each flat-type athletic course is equipped with anti-submersion nets. This marks the first such installation in Japan※1, demonstrating our commitment to creating a safe and worry-free environment for all guests. (※1 As of June 2026, based on company research)

Dedicated changing rooms are located near the venue, allowing guests to change into swimwear with peace of mind.

Surf pants, face towels, and bath towels are available for purchase on-site, and face towels can also be rented, making it easy for guests to enjoy the attraction without bringing their own gear.

Due to climate change, recent summers have seen record-breaking high temperatures becoming the norm. As a result, heatstroke prevention has become a critical challenge for outdoor summer leisure activities. In response to these environmental changes, we are introducing this cooling water-based activity to provide a summer leisure experience that also considers heatstroke prevention.

We invite you to enjoy the refreshing Water Nasu Athletic in the cool climate unique to this mountain resort.
