Nippon Express Short Track Speed Skater Shogo Miyata Receives 'Kando Osaka Award' and 'Osaka Mayor's Special Commendation'

Shogo Miyata, a short track speed skater affiliated with Nippon Express Co., Ltd., a group company of NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS, INC., has received the 'Kando Osaka Award' from Osaka Prefecture and the 'Osaka Mayor's Special Commendation' from Osaka City, following his performance at the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics held in February 2026.

Miyata competed in five events at the games: Men's 500m, 1000m, 1500m, 5000m relay, and mixed team relay, securing a 7th place finish in the Men's 5000m relay. This achievement led to the awarding of these honors.

Details of the awards:

- Kando Osaka Award (Governor's commendation): Awarded by Osaka Prefecture to individuals with ties to Osaka who achieve excellence in world-class sporting events, deeply move the prefecture's residents, and significantly contribute to prefectural policies.

- Osaka Mayor's Special Commendation: Awarded by Osaka City to athletes with ties to the city who achieve excellence in international sports events and contribute to the promotion of sports within Osaka City.
