Nippon Paint to Launch 'Green Loop BMK,' a Biomass-Balanced Inorganic Paint Achieving Up to 43% CO2 Reduction and 20-Year Durability

Nippon Paint Co., Ltd. announced that it will launch 'Green Loop BMK' in late August 2026. This high-grade water-based inorganic paint is designed to reduce dependence on petroleum resources while offering top-tier performance. Concurrently, the company will support the provision of Product Carbon Footprint (CFP) data through its 'SUSTAINA SYSTEM,' which calculates and reports the carbon footprint of its products.

In the construction industry, the adoption of low-carbon building materials is a critical theme for achieving carbon neutrality. With the upcoming introduction of institutional measures encouraging Building Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in Japan by fiscal 2028, the importance of environmental data in material selection is intensifying.

To address these challenges, 'Green Loop BMK' utilizes mass-balance biomass resin to achieve a total CO2 emission reduction of up to approximately 43%, including undercoats. Furthermore, as a high-weather-resistance inorganic paint grade with an expected service life of 20 years, it contributes to suppressing life cycle costs (LCC). Additionally, through the 'SUSTAINA SYSTEM,' the company provides highly reliable CFP data required during the design and procurement phases, helping to resolve difficulties in comparing environmental performance across different specifications.
