NISSHA Completes New R&D Facility for Medical Technology Business in the United States

Nissha Medical Technologies (NMT), the medical technology business arm of NISSHA Co., Ltd., held an opening ceremony for its newly established research and development facility, the 'Nashville Innovation Center of Excellence,' located within Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.

The ceremony was attended by Junji Suzuki, President and CEO of NISSHA, along with the Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and the Chancellor of Vanderbilt University.

Vanderbilt University is renowned for its strength in surgical innovation, driven by collaboration with its affiliated laboratories and medical centers. The 'Nashville Innovation Center of Excellence' serves as an R&D base within the university, promoting the seamless integration of academic research, technical development, and medical field utilization in the same area. This structure is designed to increase both the speed and effectiveness of medical device development.

Furthermore, EndoTheia, Inc., which has a capital and business alliance with NMT, has established a base within this facility. By creating a collaborative system ranging from R&D for improving the operability of surgical instruments to manufacturing, the partnership aims to accelerate the deployment across a diverse range of products.
