NordVPN released a report on early-access scams exploiting the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI), set for release in November 2026. During a threat intelligence survey from May 12 to 18, 2026, NordVPN identified hundreds of phishing pages targeting Rockstar Social Club credentials. Other threats include fake Android apps named 'GTA 6 Beta' that display full-screen ads, fake PS5/Xbox beta keys leading to paid subscriptions, and Windows malware disguised as NVIDIA drivers distributed via fake pirate repack sites. NordVPN recommends users to avoid downloading files outside official stores (like PlayStation Store, Xbox Marketplace, and Rockstar's site), check official channels for beta info, verify URLs before logging in, and enable two-factor authentication (2FA).
