Last Resort Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Yuta Horiuchi), a provider of global study abroad support under the NOVA Group, has invested in Free Bird Institute Limited, an educational firm listed on the South Pacific Stock Exchange in Fiji, welcoming them into the NOVA Group. Due to the historic depreciation of the yen and rising prices, the cost of high school study abroad in Western countries has soared to 5-10 million yen per year, making it accessible only to the wealthy. To address this, the company is launching a new model at approximately 2 million yen per year (including tuition and living expenses), about one-third the cost of Western programs, providing comprehensive support from language acquisition to high school graduation and university entrance preparation. Free Bird has operated high school programs in partnership with local national schools for 16 years. By graduating from these schools, students can aim for Japanese universities through special entrance exams for returnees. The program also utilizes the NOVA Group's online learning platform to support university entrance preparation while in Fiji. Furthermore, Fiji's warm, analog communication culture and multinational environment are expected to foster the 'non-cognitive skills' essential in the AI era. To commemorate the new structure, free online webinars for parents will be held.
