What is the Good Giving Mark: Third-Party Certification Visualizing 'Peace of Mind' for Donations
The Good Giving Mark is a third-party certification system launched by the Japan Center for Non-Profit Activities (JCNE) in April 2025, aimed at enhancing the reliability of NPOs and protecting donors and supporters. Organizations are evaluated based on 14 criteria across five categories: organizational confirmation, governance, compliance, financial management, and information disclosure. The mark is awarded to organizations that meet all criteria. The certification is valid for three years, and renewal requires re-evaluation.
This system is increasingly used as a mechanism for individuals, corporations, and grant foundations considering donations or collaborations to objectively verify an organization's reliability, serving as reference information for grant applications. According to JCNE's announcement (July 1, 2026), a total of 39 organizations nationwide have been certified. Wamomo Network is one of the eight newly certified organizations this time. Compared to the approximately 50,000 NPO corporations across Japan, the number of certified organizations is still very limited, and Wamomo Network obtained this certification within about one year of the system's launch.
Why We Obtained Certification: To Uphold Our 'Fully Donation-Based' Status
Wamomo Network operates under the philosophy of "Thorough Peer Support." "Peer" refers to people who have shared the same experience. To maintain a space where parents raising children with disabilities can gather as equal peers, rather than in a hierarchical relationship of supporter and supported, the organization continues to operate on a fully donation-based model without undertaking commissioned projects from the government. Many of its activities, such as operating the community space "Wahaha House" and distributing disaster preparedness workbooks free of charge, are provided for free and are entirely supported by donations and grants from individuals and corporations.
As an organization sustained by donations, we have a responsibility to respond to donors' questions of "Is this organization trustworthy?" in an objective manner. The acquisition of the Good Giving Mark, following the acquisition of certified NPO status in March 2026 (Certification Number: Osaka City Directive Citizen NPO No. 25012), is part of building a foundation of transparency to ensure the sustainability of our fully donation-based operations.
Message from the Representative Director
"Is it okay to donate to this organization?" - How can we answer the anxiety that potential donors feel? We believe that third-party certification is one of the answers. Both obtaining certified NPO status and the Good Giving Mark are foundations for continuing our activities on a fully donation-based model. We will continue to build transparent operations to remain an organization that people can support with peace of mind.
About Certified NPO Wamomo Network
Main Activities
Wahaha House (Community Communication Hub)
A community space located in Ikuno Ward, Osaka. It is a place where not only members but also supporters and local residents can easily drop in. By bringing together people from various backgrounds, including families of children and adults with disabilities, welfare professionals, and local residents, it supports the community life of people with disabilities and their families.
In addition to over 200 books on child-rearing for children with disabilities, it also provides information on businesses offering welfare services for people with disabilities, as well as materials on schools for remedial education and schools with unique programs. Approximately 600 people use the facility annually, and it is open for more than 150 days a year.

Disaster Preparedness Workbook (Free Distribution Project)
A disaster preparedness workbook for people with disabilities, those requiring special consideration, and their families. The first edition was published in 2017, and in fiscal year 2024, 500 copies of the first printed edition were produced with the support of the Red Feather Community Chest. Subsequently, 5,000 copies were distributed free of charge with the support of the JR West Japan Safety Foundation.
To date, over 8,000 copies have been distributed nationwide to special support schools, welfare facilities, municipal disaster preparedness departments, and individual households. Distribution is ongoing. In fiscal year 2025, it received the "Kira Tto Kagayaku! OSAKA Citizen Activity Grand Prix" Excellence Award.
'Wahaha no Wa' (Peer Community)
"Peer" is a term that refers to people who have shared the same experience. The "Thorough Peer Support" advocated by Wamomo Network is an approach to peer relationships that pursues equality. Even in peer relationships, hierarchical structures can emerge, but the organization's characteristic is its structural prevention of such hierarchies and its continuous focus on maintaining equality. To this end, it avoids commissioned projects from the government and aims for a donation-based operation that reduces beneficiary burden (participant burden).
Anyone can drop in on the open days of Wahaha House, and individual support (Individual Peer Hokuhoku: advance contact required) is also available for those who are not comfortable in large groups. Instead of providing answers, the organization provides necessary information and respects the decisions of the individuals and their guardians by staying alongside them.
In fiscal year 2022, it received the "Kira Tto Kagayaku! OSAKA Citizen Activity Grand Prix" Excellence Award. In the same year, it was certified for the Ikuno Ward Sustainable Town Development Activity Support Project.
Lecturer Dispatch and Awareness Activities
Lecturers are dispatched to schools for the hearing impaired, PTAs, and senior citizen clubs on topics such as disaster preparedness for children and adults with disabilities and safe smartphone usage. The organization has a track record of dispatching lecturers for approximately 10 or more cases annually.
