NTT DATA Corporation (hereinafter 'NTT DATA') announces that its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions visualization platform 'C-Turtle® FE' has been adopted by regional financial institutions, primarily regional and second-tier regional banks, expanding to 31 financial institution groups and 37 banks as of June 2026 (Note 1). This service complies with the PCAF (Note 2) standard—the international benchmark for measuring and disclosing emissions from financial institutions' investments and loans—and supports the visualization and reduction of financed emissions (Note 3). By leveraging primary data from investee companies, the platform enables accurate emissions calculations that reflect real-world conditions, thereby enhancing regional financial institutions' decarbonization management and contributing to the green transformation (GX) of regional economies.

【Background】

To achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, companies are required to measure and reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Regional financial institutions, in particular, are expected not only to manage their own emissions but also to drive regional decarbonization through dialogue with local businesses they finance.

However, many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) lack the expertise and resources needed for emissions measurement and reduction target setting, increasing the importance of financial institutions providing supportive guidance. Against this backdrop, establishing foundational systems to manage financed emissions and facilitate constructive dialogue with local enterprises has become increasingly critical.

【Overview (Key Features)】

'C-Turtle FE,' a solution supporting financial institutions in visualizing and reducing financed emissions, is one of the services offered under the GHG emissions visualization platform 'C-Turtle (Note 4).' As of April 2026, it has been adopted by 31 financial groups and 37 banks nationwide, including regional and second-tier regional banks.

By integrating with 'C-Turtle,' the platform enables not only financed companies but also entire supply chains to measure and reduce emissions, contributing to a cross-sectoral, cross-regional, and cross-supply-chain decarbonized society.

【Main Features】

・ Complies with the PCAF standard for financed emissions calculation

・ High-quality emissions calculation using primary data from financed companies

・ Realistic emissions visualization that reflects financed companies’ reduction efforts

・ Continuous functional enhancements and updated coefficient data aligned with the latest regulatory trends and market developments

・ Supports financed companies’ decarbonization across entire supply chains through integration with C-Turtle

【Future Outlook】

NTT DATA will continue to enhance and expand C-Turtle FE to support regional financial institutions in advancing financed emissions management and fostering constructive dialogue with financed companies.

Additionally, under certain conditions, NTT DATA will promote broader adoption of C-Turtle among SMEs connected to adopting financial institutions, expanding efforts toward emissions visualization and decarbonization management. By scaling GX initiatives from regional financial institutions nationwide, NTT DATA aims to contribute to supply chain-wide decarbonization and the realization of sustainable regional economies.

【Notes】

Note 1: As of June 2026, based on NTT DATA research

Note 2: PCAF (Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials) is an industry-led initiative to standardize the measurement and disclosure of financed emissions from financial institutions’ investments and loans.

Note 3: Financed emissions refer to greenhouse gas emissions associated with the investee companies of financial institutions.

Note 4: C-Turtle is a GHG emissions visualization platform that enables measurable Scope 3 emissions reduction. Typically, Scope 3 emissions are calculated as 'activity data (company activity scale)' × 'emission factors (market averages),' making it difficult to reflect actual reduction efforts. C-Turtle adopts a 'total emissions allocation method' that uses actual measured emissions data (primary data) from investees and suppliers, allowing companies to incorporate their partners’ reduction efforts into their own emissions calculations. This enhances transparency across the supply chain and promotes accurate measurement and reduction of GHG emissions.

Note 5: Financial institution names are listed in order of their group’s lead bank’s common financial institution code.
