About the Webinar
According to a Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications survey[1], 55.2% of Japanese companies now use generative AI in some form of business operation. However, compared to the U.S., China, and Germany, Japan still lags significantly in adoption breadth. The main barrier to implementation is not just regulations or budget constraints, but the lack of operational design—specifically, uncertainty about how to effectively use AI.
The absence of proper design creates both missed opportunities and risks. When tasks previously handled by humans are delegated to AI, issues such as unauthorized data transmission, incorrect outputs, and inability to trace usage history may arise. Overseas, there have already been judicial rulings holding companies liable for AI-generated misinformation. Simply stating "the AI made a mistake" is not sufficient to avoid responsibility for actual damages.
This seminar will explain what companies should do first to safely expand AI use across their operations. The starting point is to define accountability and AI principles, and to understand who within the organization is using which AI for which tasks. The practical tool for this is the "AI inventory," a system for organizing and tracking AI usage. The AI Safety Institute (AISI) guidelines[2] also identify this as the first step toward situational awareness.
The webinar will cover the mindset and methodology for creating an AI inventory. The speaker has over 10 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing technology across diverse fields, including social infrastructure, medical R&D projects, and in-house product development.
