About the AppLive Best App Award
The AppLive editorial team, having reviewed over 70,000 apps to date, collaborates with specialized judges across diverse fields to recognize the most outstanding apps that deserve users’ attention each year.
This year marks the third edition of the award and introduces an entry-based system for the first time. Behind every great app lies the persistent dedication of developers who sincerely engage with their users. To shine a light on efforts that may have previously gone unnoticed by the editorial team, we have transitioned to an open-entry format.
Additionally, this year introduces two new categories: the 'Grand Prix,' which selects the single app that best represents the year, and the 'Marketing Award,' which evaluates the marketing strategy itself. The award has been upgraded to celebrate the diverse challenges and growth of app businesses.
Through this award, we aim to create opportunities for users to discover new apps and contribute to the overall vitality of the app industry.

Message from the Chief Judge
Chief Judge (AppLive Editorial Team), Takashi Ito
I believe an app only gains value when it is actually used. There are countless apps that genuinely improve people’s daily lives but have yet to be discovered by those who need them. Our reason for continuing this award is simple: to ensure these apps reach the right users.
AppLive is neither a seller nor a distributor of apps. Since 2012, we have consistently stood on the user’s side, evaluating apps from their perspective. Our sole criterion has always been: 'Is this truly good for the user?' We believe there is value in conveying this third-party judgment through our award.
This year marks the third edition of the AppLive Best App Award. A trustworthy award cannot be built overnight. By consistently selecting winners year after year without deviation, we aim to gradually become a platform where people think, 'If it wins here, it must be good.' This is a crucial third year.
This year, we have introduced the Grand Prix and Marketing Award. We believe that creating a great app and ensuring it reaches the right audience require different strengths. Who you target and how you deliver your message—only when these are carefully designed can an app truly land in users’ hands. We want this award to recognize not just the product, but also the strategy and passion behind it. Alongside this, we’ve introduced an entry system so that even apps we haven’t noticed can now step forward.
We hope this award continues to be a place where well-crafted apps find their way to the people who need them.
Chief Judge (AppLive Editorial Team), Takashi Ito
