The competition "Sneaker Ages" (organized by the Sneaker Ages Executive Committee, The Sankei Shimbun, and Miki Gakki) is a contest where students belonging to high school light music clubs compete for the national championship on a school-versus-school basis, not a band-versus-band basis.

Starting in Osaka in 1979, the contest has a history of nearly 50 years and has expanded nationwide. Since 2021, a national tournament has been held with representative schools that have won preliminary rounds in 8 regions across Japan. With the endorsement of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, it continues to grow as a goal for high school students in light music clubs.

The program will invite high school students belonging to light music clubs in the Kansai region, who aim for the "Sneaker Ages," and their advisor teachers to the studio on a weekly basis. It will ask about their club activities, high school life, music, and their passionate feelings for the "Sneaker Ages."

The school appearing in the commemorative first broadcast is the Nara Ikuei High School Light Music Club, the grand prize winner of the 5th National Tournament.

The personality is Marin Kitamura, a freelance announcer who has experience performing as a vocalist on stage at the Kansai regional grand prix and also serves as the public relations officer for the Sneaker Ages Executive Committee.
