Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku, Tokyo; President: Shigeru Suzuki) will hold the '2026 Summer Parent-Child Experience Events' from July 18 (Sat) to August 23 (Sun), 2026, at various locations along the Odakyu Line for elementary school students and their guardians. This event offers diverse experiences in work, sports, and culture, helping families create summer memories and providing material for summer vacation research projects. The events consist of 14 different types of experiences, including vocational training and creative workshops, covering themes such as 'transportation,' 'food,' 'community,' 'culture,' and 'sports.' Instructors are staff members who work in these fields daily, allowing children to learn about the behind-the-scenes of jobs that support daily life and the joy of sports through hands-on interaction with actual equipment and materials. For example, in the Family Railway Class, participants can learn about the safety operations performed by crew members, board actual trains parked at the depot, experience being a conductor by making in-car announcements, and learn proper train etiquette. In the fish and bread cooking workshops, children will deepen their understanding of 'making' and 'delivering' food while learning about the safety and hygiene management valued by professionals. Through these initiatives, various 'first-time' experiences will be born along the Odakyu Line this summer. Under the 'Child-Rearing Support Policy' announced in 2021, the company has been working to create an environment where families can go out with peace of mind, such as by implementing a flat 50-yen child IC fare for all sections and introducing 'Child-Rearing Support Cars.' Furthermore, the company is promoting initiatives to nurture the happiness and smiles of children together with companies and regions that agree with the policy, and this event is part of those efforts. The company will continue to expand its network of cooperation both inside and outside the service area to realize a 'child-rearing-friendly line.'
